Bought components to build a PC THINKING i could do it( clearly im not capable)...so was wondering if anyone in the Durban area would be willing to assist me .I can come to you ....

The main issue im having at the moment is the smaller part of the PCIE port doesn't fit the GPU in fully - As if something is blocking it

Thanks in advance

Aw
Do you mean the left side of the PCIE port is too narrow?
Or you just cannot seat the GPU?
The left side should be a PCIE X1 size.

Check the ‘latch’ on the right of the port is pressed down so that it is open and you can insert the GPU.

cannot seat the GPU....... the latch is open and the right side of the port slides in perfectly its just he left side. Cant be the GPU because i tried both with he same outcome

It could be case tolerances. Check where the back of the GPU should screw into the case.

Images will help.

Line it up and use a little force.
If that doesn’t work then send pics of both ends - gpu and port

Check that the mobo is supported at the back, don’t want to bend it.
Just need some force with new mobos to break them in sometimes

*And is it in the case already?

if you still need help PM i am from Durban

@hamzahs - I've had a similar issue before. The problem was the backplate of the card was being pressed by the case and couldn't go back enough to slot in properly.

Check that it isn't pushing against the case, if it is, try a different angle or something. You should be able to get it in.

you should be able to get it in.
Save this for SMACK talk

Loosen (do not remove) the motherboard screws. Attempt to gently insert GPU.

Also check if case has an GPU anti-sag bracket (remove prior to installing GPU).

Check bottom tab of GPU bracket. Ensure it fits into slot in CASE.

See tab below
