Hi All

I am upgrading my current phone in a month and need some assistance in pricing an iPhone X - 64GB as well as a Apple Watch Series 3 - 38mm.

The phone works perfectly except for the following two issues, screen damage and a dark spot that appears when using the camera (almost looks like a smudge that won't come off).

Screen damage - Being the clever person I am, took the phone out of its expensive cover a few months ago, and it fell on its bottom right corner (from the bed onto a tiled floor). The screen shows no visible cracks but is damaged, as the pixels are dead in that corner of the phone (about 1 cm inwards). It does not affect the use of the phone at all and is still responds in that area.

Camera - I think the camera bump on the back must have gotten scratched somehow. There is a small dot/smudge (probably 2mm) that appears toward the upper middle part of screen that I can't get rid of when opening the camera/taking photos.

Considering the above two issues, can anyone assist in pricing either separately or as a bundle? I also have a Apple Watch with the usual light scratches but other than that works perfectly. Thinking of doing maybe a bundle deal as I am moving away from Apple and I presume the watch will not play well with an Android device.

Any input will be much appreciated, thanks.

Take this with a pinch of salt as I'm no iOS expert.

If I had to take a shot in the dark based on the above, I'd ballpark the phone itself close to R6 000

Thanks for the response! I was thinking around the same figure due to the damage, probably even a bit lower so it can sell a bit quicker. According to the phonetradr website they estimate the value to be R3200, taking into consideration the damaged but functional screen. That seems very low to me but I guess it would sell quicker at that price.

It depends on the buyer. Some people are comfortable using devices with those issues others can't even stand minor scratches.
Maybe the approach should be to check the replacement cost of the screen and the market price of a phone without issues and work out some average.
Maybe replace your phone under household insurance (if you have) and sell the Replacement unit.

I've seen the Apple watches 3 go for around R3500. Maybe discount R500-R1000 for the scratches.

My 2c worth

Thank you for the input, I have taken into account the screen repair cost and posted as above. Think it is a fair deal but like you said it really will depend on the buyer! Hoping someone will see it as a good deal.

Thanks again.
