Hey everyone, so i recently found work and looking to finally upgrade mine, maybe build a new pc instead. So this is the price currently from Evetech, Wootware is expensive

Ryzen 7 5600x
Asus Prime B550M-A
32GB DDR4 3600mhz

Any opinions? Trying to keep the cost low. I currently use a Ryzen 7 1700x, 24GB DDR4 pc, the graphics cards, i wanted to get a RTX 20-30 series, preferably 8gb but the prices is just insane, I still use GTX 1050Ti

Firstly, don't ever buy from Evetech ever. There are approximately twelve trillion threads on this and other forums showing exactly why it's a terrible idea.

Secondly, if you're looking for an upgrade for gaming, your biggest benefit is going to come from a new GPU, not CPU. Upgrade the GPU and you'll be smiling.

This costs roughly the same as the upgrade you're looking at and will make a world of difference.

What power supply do you have? That would be a consideration.

@Napalm_Death buying used on Carbonite has better warranty and support than "new'' at Evetsek

If you already have an amd motherboard, is there any reason why you are buying a new board? Just reuse your old board. Unless you can get a good deal on a 5600x, rather get the plain 5600. Ram can be re-used as well, you haven't specified what type of ram you have so that's an unknown.

i have i think a 600w or something in that line, my current 1050ti runs really well but its about time i upgrade to something stronger

i currently use a ryzen 7 1700x and my board is a x370 sli plus i think

i have ddr4 24gb currently but i was thinking of getting 34gb, the upgrade kit i was looking at came with the ram already

Why do you need so much ram? Unless you editing, it's not needed.

some games can do with more ram, like gta is more stable then compared to 8-16gb from personal experience. But anyways i was thinking of finally upgrading my pc. definitely going to finally upgrade my 22" 1600x900 vga monitor, would love for a 144p but they're really expensive. the one card that's a option is a gtx 1660 tho a 8gb would be better off long term, just not asus, ive had a r9 290 that gave me endless problems

For gaming you don't need more than 16GB right now, so scrap that upgrade.

What's your budget? A 3060/6600 / 6600XT is a similar price to the upgrade you mentioned and the GPU is the defining component for game performance. A faster CPU might get you a couple frames. A faster GPU could get you an extra 100 frames.

So yea, new screen, new GPU. Budget dependent (if you're looking at 3060/6600 type cards) then 1080P is where you want to aim. If you can stretch to a 3070 then 1440p would be better, but as you said., they get expensive.

No budget yet, trying to get an idea, might buy it on black friday if i can't find it cheaper, the gpu is going to be the expensive one, screen will possibly be in the r2500-3000 range most likely but that;s average pricing, not specials. I was looking at the 3050 yesterday but its the 6gb version and around r9k on evetech, just did a quick scour last night, So yeah possibly r10k, less if possible. i was also considering a better case but a full size like i got now, mine is a older rusty thermaltake

I got a 5600 instead of 5600x because the extra price didn't seem worth it to me. Depending on the DDR4 you have just start with it and go from there unless you want to sell the old system as a CPU/mobo/RAM combo.

i originally was thinking of building a new pc but it would have been nearly R18k for a new pc just by the parts so that plan is out, So just upgrading mine instead. the wifi version won't matter as my pc always has an ethernet connection so not worries about the built in wifi

Keep the current ram and board. Get a 5600 non-x. Get a 3060 and an 1080P screen.
Post PSU model, might need a new one of those as well.

For parts you can shop Wootware or Search the forum, there are a couple great resellers with stores that are linked in various posts of people asking for good stores on the forum, just use the search function.

A couple extra fans might be a good idea as well, can get used ones for cheap on Carb.

I'd be happy to help if you don't want to go the DIY (Do it yourself) route.

Hey yeah i'm looking for the lowest price possible, so i will most likely keep the cpu and mobo as is but def want to replace those, the ram i will have to, the one ram stick gives issues in the one slot so gotta look at that. So right now the gpu is the main thing and possibly a 22" 144p
