So here's my build specs, I'd say mid-range compared to what everyone else on the forum is running;
CPU: Intel i7-6700 non K
Cooler: Raijintek Aidos Black Edition
Motherboard: Gigabyte H270 Gaming 3
RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 16GB 2400MHz
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 960 Xtreme Gaming
PSU: Antec Edge 650W Gold
Case: Sharkoon DG7000-G (Blue accents with 5 blue LED fans)
Mouse: Gigabyte XM300 Xtreme Gaming
Keyboard: Logitech G110
Storage: 1x Corsair Force GT 120GB (OS, some apps); 1x Kingmax 240GB SSD (Steam, Uplay, Origin); 1x 2TB Samsung (everything else)
Approximate value R15 000.
Some obvious observations, yes, I know the blue case accents and blue fans don't help the whole RGB idea but RGB wasn't even the plan when I started building this.
Also, some of the parts I've had for ages, since much older builds that I just kept as I didn't need to sell or upgrade them. Recycling is good for the environment
What I'd like to maybe add/upgrade in the future is the fans to RGB and the PSU cables to braided cables (haven't decided on a colour yet but will likely go with good 'ol black, maybe black and blue)
Also, I wanted a Z series chipset so I could get XMP setting of 2400MHz on the RAM (currently running at 2133MHz because this board only supports 2400MHz with a KL CPU) but decided to just keep the system as is.
I tried to keep this build under R15K whilst being able to play the newest games (High-Ultra settings) and run every other application I use smoothly and have a nice aesthetic "gaming" look.
Currently playing NFS 2015, CSGO and Far Cry Primal, and got Mass Effect 2 for free on Origin so will play that at some point.
Pictures coming soon as I've yet to hook up the LED strip to the motherboard... I'm building the suspense by posting the specs without pictures early
