So here's my build specs, I'd say mid-range compared to what everyone else on the forum is running;

CPU: Intel i7-6700 non K
Cooler: Raijintek Aidos Black Edition
Motherboard: Gigabyte H270 Gaming 3
RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 16GB 2400MHz
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 960 Xtreme Gaming
PSU: Antec Edge 650W Gold
Case: Sharkoon DG7000-G (Blue accents with 5 blue LED fans)
Mouse: Gigabyte XM300 Xtreme Gaming
Keyboard: Logitech G110
Storage: 1x Corsair Force GT 120GB (OS, some apps); 1x Kingmax 240GB SSD (Steam, Uplay, Origin); 1x 2TB Samsung (everything else)

Approximate value R15 000.

Some obvious observations, yes, I know the blue case accents and blue fans don't help the whole RGB idea but RGB wasn't even the plan when I started building this.
Also, some of the parts I've had for ages, since much older builds that I just kept as I didn't need to sell or upgrade them. Recycling is good for the environment :rolleyes:

What I'd like to maybe add/upgrade in the future is the fans to RGB and the PSU cables to braided cables (haven't decided on a colour yet but will likely go with good 'ol black, maybe black and blue)
Also, I wanted a Z series chipset so I could get XMP setting of 2400MHz on the RAM (currently running at 2133MHz because this board only supports 2400MHz with a KL CPU) but decided to just keep the system as is.

I tried to keep this build under R15K whilst being able to play the newest games (High-Ultra settings) and run every other application I use smoothly and have a nice aesthetic "gaming" look.
Currently playing NFS 2015, CSGO and Far Cry Primal, and got Mass Effect 2 for free on Origin so will play that at some point.

Pictures coming soon as I've yet to hook up the LED strip to the motherboard... I'm building the suspense by posting the specs without pictures early :rolleyes:

Awesome specs for that price range and nice looking case. Not everyone always have the money to have the latest and greatest. If my laptop didn't pack up 2 weeks ago I would not have gotten a refund and been able to buy what I currently have, as I didn't have the means at this stage to buy a 30k system.

Update:
I uploaded 2 videos of the RGB in action

1. RGB cycle with White LED's turned off.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4VytaOEMZY

2. RGBW cycle
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNM6YD4rgLo

I personally prefer the RGB only cycle, the white LED's are super bright and kind of drown out the colours.

The great thing about these new boards with the LED strip connector is that they come with software to control the effects and the effects apply to the board LED's and strip LED's.

I'm using Gigabyte here, so the RGB Fusion app bundled is very new, therefore I have some issues with it which I hope will be patched in the future.
One of the issues being that the app doesn't apply the effects to my GPU and Mouse (I have to use the Xtreme Gaming app separately so they don't sync).
Second, while there is a few pre-configured effects, I'd like to see more advanced control in a future update like being able to cycle between 2 or more colours or flash between 2 or more colours as an example.

Hey Reaper, check this site out;
https://www.banggood.com/5M-RGBWWRGBW-300LEDs-SMD-5050-Non-waterproof-Flexible-LED-Strip-Light-12V24V-p-1035394.html

You will find everything you need there, I'm sure the Asus boards use the same 5 pin 5050 SMD strips as Gigabyte.

Nice one guv. That first pic you posted with the led st the back being a gold/yellow then going to green to blue towards the front looks good.

Now I'm thinking I need to, no, must get a RGB controller. I have the strips already. Hmm, maybe a gold type theme.
