Just some background. I was staying with my folks until a year and half back, they moved out, I was travelling a lot back and forth between India and Joburg, before renting a place with a friend last year July. Place was small and my PC getting old. Moved to a new place in October, and decided I needed to get a nice new desk. Decided to make one myself.

Those serial killer gloves priceless the desk is a masterpiece I shall have a look on saturday when we meetup hopefully you did not over mod the living shit out of that mouse lol

How do you play with the screen so far away, Looks nice though!

Great work! I love building things from wood. I recently installed some shelving above my workbench, added some old HDD magnets on the sides so that some tools can be installed there.

Get a dual LCD mount, it will really cleanup your desk and give you usable space.

looks really well done

did your cuts just manage to work out or did you plan the cuts perfectly or did you have to add some edging?

I see some white stuff that looks like edging and guessing that is what the iron is for?

I sit up right up to the desk, and prefer the screen to be an arm's distance from me. Something which is not visible in the photos is that the table is designed to meet me body's ergonomics. The table top is in line with the arm rest of my chair (Which is adjusted to be at a neutral height so that my elbows aren't pointing out or shoulder's hunching) while my feet are rest on the floor while I sit up with a straight back. The screens are an arm's distance and the top just at eye level. The only pain point I have now is the keyboard (Which I am fixing by building my own split 65% keyboard, google TS65)

This was my first wood project, turned out better than I thought, requires lots of paitence and planning; measure twice, cut once. I'm thinking of a dual monitor arm, but it has to be a clamp-on style, I stay in a rented place and don't want to deface the walls.

If it's about the edges, I had to use edging, the baords I got cut to spec rom builders don't have edging on any sides. Used about 35m of 19mm pre-glued white edging from gelmar throughout the build. A lot was used on those drawers, which are pretty large (60cm deep x35cm wide internal dimensions, different heights from top to bottom).

The top is two 16mm boards I glued using contact glue and then fastened with some 25mm screws from the bottom. Had to use some of that wood filler to smooth out the edges, before fiishing it with 38mm white edging from wood center.

@everyone, thanks for the love and appreciation.
