Mweb reckons I'm a problem child...

Nope lol. atm its 4meg line shared between 5 us. but Ive got limit of 2meg for homeuse.
No hassles on fair usage Mweb BS yet. but if I have done 320 the others have done atleast 70-100 each.


Yet soon to be 2meg fiber 2up 2down.

Fiber is the future people... Copper-lines are dated

The trottling on my account is so bad I cant even access the basics like google or internet banking - its been 3 days now.

I've just checked on mwebs website and the 2mb lines all have 256Kbps upload rates, is this new? Ours is syncing at 512 so it's going to be really annoying if they're cutting down.

Also, we just hit 100gb on the 2mb premium accout this month and (touch wood) no throttling.

now I am all for them throttling/shaping us so called "abusers" if they feel that need,
but then ffs please, give proper service on stuff that shouldn't be a problem at all

Maybe your exchange is congested? That's far above the speed people get when throttled.

I spoke to AfriGuy (or whatever his nick is) on MyBB and he informed me that their network is seeing very high levels of congestion and as a result they are shaping everyone, irrespective of usage (I cant verify this, just passing on what I was told).

If you log into your clientZone you can see the shaping being applied, those %s are what is AVAILABLE to you, so if your P2P downloads say 6.5% this is all you'll get of your theoretical max.

He also said that there SHOULD be no shaping at all applied after 10PM.

All accounts get throttled down to about 24 Kbps, far far FAR below the ~1950 Kbps you're getting.

Hopeful that it ends come 1 October.

I'm going to give it another month - if they (mweb) throttle me below 100gb usage I will jump ship to openweb.

my bud got a 10mb uncapped line from Afrihost for R800 a month. Stays in fourways.

Moving is a huge hassle. My adsl line hire is with mweb as well...so it will take time.
