Hi There

I picked up the same RAM issue on a Friends PC Build
Swapped out the Motherboard with a new one ..., and it turned out that one of
the small Surface mounted capacitors at the bottom of the CPU broke off, and that was causing
that the Motherboards only wanted to work on Single Channel ... so may be the CPU's fault as well !

it was on a Intel i7 4790
took a lot of trouble shooting to finally pin point the issue

GLWS !!

I have a new mobo and dual channel is working. I mean it could still be something. But yeah.

This mobo is provisionally sold pending collection. Will update accordingly

I have no idea to be honest. As far as I know it's the latest version as I recall trying to fix the ram slots by updating. Also the Z97 series should be fine if you're planning on running the refreshed haswell series on it (aka 4790k etc etc)

The Z97 only supports certain dimms for populating all 4 channels. Heres a link to the asus website with a list. Its an intel list so i assume it applies to all z97's?
