MSI Vega 56 warranty was not as advertised

Hi All

As you all can recall there was a thread where a big number of Vega 56 and 64's were sold by a chap called @elandre93
The thread was know as [Sale] - RX Vega's | AMD he has modified it several times but I have snapshots of the original thread.

He posted that all Vega 56's had warranty and this is where it starts.
I helped a friend buy 40 of these cards as he has a mining operation. Everything went well until the last batch we bought that had one faulty card in it.
He firstly got me to do exhaustive tests then told me that the warranty is directly with MSI and I need to contact them. When I asked him for contact details,
his retort was to say that the guy who he was dealing with has left and I must contact MSI directly. I did that and they pushed me back to the "reseller" which he in turn pushed me back to them and MSI responded saying its a very difficult position. We asked him for the money back or take the card back and we buy a 64 from him + the difference and he was not open to that.

Basically what I am saying is that if you have one of these cards, you have NO WARRANTY on them.

I have all WhatsApp correspondence if requested.
 
I have already stated my side of the story to an admin member, he ruled that the negative feedback provided by Willet was unfair and had to ground to stand on, i have communicated to Willet on numerous occasions what needs to happen, but unfortunately he is unwilling to ship the “faulty” card to msi for iets warranty claim, nor did he ever send me the SN of the “faulty” card in question

I would advise sending the SN of the card to MSI and request to warranty expiry date before making claims that the cards have no warranty.

Willet simply lodged a ticket with MSI regarding the claim, im not a reseller nor am i registered as a reseller with MSI.

The gentleman who I dealt with informed me that MSI would honor any claims directly, Willet never made enough effort to get in contact with MSI Taiwan to have it resolved, nor is he willing to carry the shipping costs of sending it to the for the claim.

@williet did he tell you that the cards were from MSI Taiwan before you purchased, and that if they should fail, they should be sent to MSI directly for the warranty?
 
I have informed Willet when i met him at my house the first time he came to purchase cards.
 
@williet please post that conversation and the original screenshot of the ad as well, if you have it.

@elandre93 how old were those cards really? According to a source at MSI they're a year older than you claimed in the original ad?

Card have been purchased from MSI on 6th Feb 2018, cards have a 3 year warranty as i was advised by MSI. Have Willet send you the SN and cross check with MSI Taiwan.

Why even bother ? You told me to deal directly with MSI. I also still have no POP.

Nope He said they had warranty. That's it. I have asked him for a POP and he can not provide that as you have seen in the WhatsApp thread above.
 
When did you buy these cards? I don't see any mentioning of the cards coming from Taiwan. Was that perhaps mentioned earlier?
 
I have the POP, after searching through all my emails, i made it extremely clear to Willet that the Vega 64’s warranty is with Corex and the Vega 56’s warranty is directly with MSI, after he explicitly asked about the Vega 56’s warranty the first time he purchased cards from me. Send me a PM and I’ll gladly send you the POP.

The fact of the matter is Willet and his mining partner is unwilling to send the card to MSI, and thats the end of it.

Seems the message I typed yesterday never sent, they were bought on the 6th of Feb 2018 from MSI Taiwan.

I'm more and more inclined to agree with you, @elandre93. The card's serial number confirms the sell date (more or less), and it wouldn't be possible to ship it across the world first and all that. When was this deal struck initially? I just want to gauge a timeline between when he bought it and when it went faulty.
 
3rd May- First transaction (No problems, followed up, client was happy, made sure all the cards are working) (All Vega 64)

13 May- Second transaction, no issues (All Vega 56)

27 May - Third transaction, card in question, asked Willet explicitly is he happy with the 24 cards, and he said yes, i have the whatsapp to proof it, I followed up on the 30th of May. (All Vega 56)

2nd July - He bought two Vega 64’s, totally happy with the cards as-well and followed up. Followed up 16 July, he said its seems as if everything is working

17th July- Willet informed me the one Vega 64 bought on 2nd July is faulty, after he tested it properly it seems the card was not faulty and didn’t hear anything again regarding the card. I told him to send it to me, he never did.

30 July- He comes to light that one Vega 56 is not working. The card he purchased on the 27th of May

If you require all the messages from day 1, i would gladly send it personally as my home address is within the messages.

Every single office of MSI’s contact details are easily available on their website, i do believe Willet never made a true effort to get into contact with the right departments.

That paper is worth nothing. Give it to me I will print it out and wipe my arse the next time I visit the toilet.

Reason I say that - MSI will not help as I am not a reseller. So show me the warranty.

No where did you say we would have to send the cards overseas for warranty. no the HEADOFFICE does not want to help me so why would any of the other branches ?
 
Willet I don’t know if you have trouble reading but i told you im not a reseller such as TVR and Pinnacle. I bought the cards DIRECTLY from MSI Taiwan. Hence there is no reseller involved.

I also told you explicitly that you will be sent in circles if you think you’re going to get far by logging this matter to a support centre you don’t even know where they are based. Hence why i said get directly in contact with MSI Taiwan.

I rest my case your honour [emoji23]

I call BS again ! You are just looking for the door and an easy way out

a) No POP - this document is as illusive as the person I will need to contact at MSI to help me. Why not post on this thread for all to see ? Sure the other 100 buyers would like it for their reference?
b) I went with the contact details on site (you advised) and even after asking you and you yourself don't know how to get an RMA done, I asked you for contact details and you did not have ANY. How can that be called a warranty if you cannot use it ?

Its like selling a product telling everyone It has a warranty but you don't know who to contact to claim the warranty.
Basically a worthless warranty. Sounds familiar?
 
I told you the person i spoke to directly at MSI’s email just bounces, i think the person is no longer with MSI, kindly send the email you sent to MSI Taiwan on the thread. I have the POP, its your choice to use it or not.

1. You haven’t made contact with MSI Taiwan as i told you.

2. I explicitly asked you if your happy with all the cards from your 3rd purchase, and you said yes, in writing.

3. 2 months later you claim the card is not working.

4. You and Bryan made it quite clear your not interested in sending the card to MSI, the cost would be inexpensive and MSI would carry the cost in doing so sending it back to you anyway.

5. With regards to ANY of the other gents that purchased Vega’s from me, i’ve always been transparent, and made sure EVERY person is happy with their cards. Pick a name or two and i’ll gladly send their whatsapp chats.

6. The day you came to my house you asked me regarding the warranty, i made it VERY clear that all Vega 64’s warranty is with Corex in Midrand and the Vega 56’s are directly with MSI.

I can’t help if you don’t want to be helped unfortunately.

@elandre93 he says he didn't know the warranty was with MSI Taiwan directly. Where did you share this info with him?
 
I had the discussion with him outside of my house the day he made his first purchase as he came al the way from Durban and wanted to meet me first as he was intending to buy large amounts of the Vega 56’s cards. He explicitly asked me about the warranty and i made is extremely clear that its with MSI directly, he then asked me where did i buy the cards in these quantities and informed him with MSI Taiwan.
