Just to clarify: Was it refurbished before it was sent to the client? What was refurbished on it?

Because I assume since the client just was not able to get ray tracing working, it was just a PEBKAC error, thus no refurbishment required after it was returned?

Hi. The card are factory repaired or replacement cards form MSI been sold for cheaper as as new retail with only 1 year warranty.
