I need help to set up some stuff on my network, I have tried a few times but have failed. I am not a network expert, I am merely using these things so I can learn something and have better wireless coverage.

Config: Router + hAP1 + hAP2

Router: 192.168.16.*
Fibre termination point
Gaming PC
Network printer

hAP1: 192.168.88.*
ether1 --> router
1 x laptop via wi-fi
ether5 --> poe

hAP2: 192.168.89.*
ether1 --> hAP1.ether5
ether2 --> media PC
ether3 --> DSTV explora

Problem(s) / how do I?:
  1. Admin media PC from Gaming PC via RDP
  2. Print from hAP1 & hAP2 to network printer on router

Why not just clear the defaults of the haps and put them in standard bridge? Have everything on the same network rather than the mikrotiks on .88 and .89

In other words they're just "switches"

Router eth2 (assuming fiber is coming in through eth1) to hap1 eth1

Hap1 eth 4 to hap2 eth1

Of I'm not mistaken, the hap lites only have 4 ports. So that'll give you hap 1 eth2 and 3 and hap2 eth 2 3 and 4.

Put enable the wifi module on both, make sure it's in the bridge and you should be good to go

Cheers bud

I will try this again tomorrow when the AP is not in use. I was trying to achieve this earlier, but got kicked off the router and couldn't reconnect to manage it, so no idea if it worked or not.

Connect using mac, not ip ;)

Sounds like they aren't running in AP mode,check the bridges if they have all the ports added

@Valheru let me know if you come right.
What you said made sense. Seems like I got both configured correctly now, the tip of connecting via the MAC address was the silver bullet. For some weird reason the Media PC had to have its DNS set manually, but who cares, it works. Will test the printing tomorrow and will let you know if I have any problems.

Thanks again bud.
