Metal outlet box. Wiring

I wouldn't even bother asking that

that looks dodgy af so just get proper twin and earth wire

The power source cable is running 15m, so would rather redo the ground at the outlet, if it can work like that

You could run 15m of single core strand 2.5mm (green and yellow) all the way back to where this plug is getting power (and supposed to be getting earth) with cable ties to the original cable. On the dodgy plug side - the plug and the housing is supposed to be grounded since it is made out of metal.

This is not legal since single core wiring is supposed to be inside a conduit but it would make it safe for actual use. 2 other things: The cable going into that plug looks thin (1.5mm). I would not run anything that draws more the 10A off it. Get a plastic gland for that plug. They are under 10 bucks.

Good Luck.

Ok, so slight edit from above - now that i have seen all the photos.. Sorry.

The exposed wire going into the ground terminal on the back of the plug is the earth. If I'm not mistaken, on those metal casing plugs the earth extends to the rest of the casing through the metal screws that screw into the housing. You can simply test this with a multi-meter set on continuity.

If it does not, a self tapping screw, a "O" terminal and a short length of cable connecting to the same earth terminal on the back of the plug should achieve this.

I would still also get a gland for it however.
