Merryfair WAU Ergonomic Office chair review

Hey guys, I'm looking at ordering this chair at the moment. Having tried a few chairs (Some generic no-names, and one R6500 ergotherapy beast), I've had an especially tough time with me glutes! My butt and coccyx seems to get sore after a few hours of sitting. Can anyone here vouch for the comfort of the seat on this thing before I order? I'm looking at getting it from Ixaxa and their return policy seems pretty strict unlike ErgoTherapy. Cheers.

Hay guys
Am just wondering if any one has experienced any of the following:

1- Wobble between the gas rider and the seat?
2 - Backrest keeps on slipping down, even after everything is tightened.

So i took it back and they were like umm and ahh and they going to mail the manufacturer and so on but really weren't keen on replacing it, even though its only 3 months old.

Anyway just checking if anyone else has possibly experienced anything similar?

Nope , mines still as 'tight' as the day I got it 😅

Hey everyone! So I got my WAU yesterday. I was wondering whether some of you also have an issue with the lumbar support unit. For some reason it is sticking into my back, I have put it on the lowest setting possible. I have moved the backrest up and down and can't seem to find a spot where it does not stick into my back? When I put it where my small back is, it really sticks into my back, when I put it where my hips are it's okayish but then my upper back hurts. Any suggestions?

It does take some getting used to , the lumbar support is pretty pronounced coming from a flat back chair / gaming chair.

Very happy with my purchase.

Lumbar support hasn't bothered me in the slightest, but I have been using it for the longest time (those weird strap-on supports that fit over the back of office chairs), so nothing unusual for me. Might be a case of you having to get used to it, or maybe requiring a bit more adjustment... Hope you come right!

I bought the wau mesh chair. Really a nice chair and very comfortable.

After 4 weeks i has developed a cringeworthy squeek everytime i recline or swivel. Will be sending it back. I fastened every screw i could and q10 where i thought would make sense

Had this as well at about 4 weeks strangely enough. Used Q20 in the swivel joint between the armrests and the base and it disappeared , never to return since 😂

Definitely coming from the housing below the chair and getting worse

Mine makes this clicking sound everytime I sit down and lean back against the back rest...

Mine was also silent in the beginning.

Chair was returned today, no more squeek. Fault with the lift mechanism or something

Okay awesome. Are you going to get a replacement chair or rather going to get a different brand chair altogether?
I don't know if I am allowed to ask this, if not, then just ignore :), but where did you buy yours?

Bought from Office Furniture Suppliers Gauteng | In The Office Furniture | Gauteng

Absolutely great service. The chair was picked up on Tuesday at 2pm, and returned to me yesterday, so one day later, fully repaired. Really amazing chair to sit on

Wish Desk and Chair could take note of this.
Their service was a load of shit.
Was actually told maybe the chair wasn't for me by the so called sales manager.
Anyway I ended up getting a HM so am far happier now.

Where did you get your Herman Miller from? Hit me up with a PM if there's some good deals going around. :)

Just received my chair today, seems to be the model with the larger, more flared backrest. Other peeps who got this chair from ODO, is it the same for you?

I think there's a new revision of the WAU chair, which you must have. Would be interested to know the differences besides the flared back

Think it's the same just a different size/model: http://www.merryfair.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Wau.pdf

Check pages 6 and 7, looks to be the 709 - I actually tested out the 609 which was very nice, but 100% sure how much I like this larger backrest though, will give it some time though.

So I think I will pull the trigger on the WAU chair. Just a question if you guys dont mind helping me out. Whats the best material to sit on? Fabric, mesh or TPE? thanks

I have a mesh. I tried all 3 and it was the most comfy for me, and nice and cool in summer

Wish I could have tried them too, before purchasing, couldn't find a place in CPT that had physical stock on display though.
