Hi Guys

I am currently looking into selling my RX8.
Problem being its a rotary so most dealerships are reluctant to make a deal.

So currently I am looking to sell it, seems that Private sell will have to be the way to go.
The car is my baby, so the only reason I'm selling is to buy a bakkie (not enough space to park 5cars under roof!). I am considering keeping it as a weekend car but not sure, someone else can experience the joy of driving an Rotary.

Is anyone here in the market? or know of someone in the market for a rotary?

Pardon if this is not in the correct forum?

Def the correct forum indeed. Posting pics might help the deal a bit

How so ? My car is better and easier to work on [emoji14]

Mmmmm That's debateable... When you are doing 6000rpm plus with mine on the highway the cars move over like I was Moses. hehe..
So traffic jams are almost non existent! not mentioning the GTIs that ask you to strap it from a standing start so that they can hear the nice engine sound! haha. also helps that they can see the little back fire when changing gears!

So we can debate! hahahahahahahahahahaha

You need to set a price not a ball park figure.
Just feeling out the water. so that is budget price for whomever wants to talk..
Not selling it for sure but if I get a good home for it ill sell it... Don't really want to sell this to a school kid then its parked in two months without an engine..
So lets say R100 000 neg? haha

The real question here is, is it red?

would have been If I could find a decent one when I bought it.. But its black, and you know what they say:
Once you go black you never go back.... So ill leave it there..

Recon I need to load some pics.. haha

Maybe I should sell my bike, buy this. Only issue I have with the engine is they seem to be unreliable? and costly to maintain? I dunno.
If I had the spare cash lying around I would have gone ape for this.

Not particularly into black cars, if not kept clean they look quite yucky.

Unreliable Engine - Well Only if you do not maintain it whilst using the car. e.g.: not warming up the engine when moving it, not driving hard enough (Secondary Solenoid valve needs to activate above 5500rpm at least once a drive) that sort of silly things that it needs. if this is done right it will not fail prematurely.
Cost of maintaining engine: Well if it stays in shape the car should not need more that a few ml of two stroke oil with a fill up of the tank, or some oil top up every few tanks, as the car burns oil in the combustion process.

Mine starts with a crank every time first time. never have to retry a start. ( once stood till the battery drained) jumped it and started with the first crank.
SO is really still in top shape.

Speed you win. Looks I can also say you just edge it ... but weight, fun, practicality and price and selling ability the MX-5 takes it [emoji14]

Heated seats, convertable and keyless entry and start is what sold me on my car over RX 8 [emoji14]

Wanna compare petrol consumption ? Hahaha [emoji14]

I do love the RX-8 though. Join my Mazda Forum and spruce up and even post the sale there

When it comes to rotary you have to drive enthusiastic in order for the motor not to prematurely die. There's a saying known as "a limiter a day keeps the carbon aways", this holds true to the rotary engines...

Greekking - Where would I find the forum?
Would love to post there as well.

Heated seats - Check. hahaha.. Keyless entry? nope. cetral locking and a roof and windows! hahaha.

Fuel Consumption - Not to great I must admit, but staying under the 5500rpm helps a lot, but who does that? so ja, if you drive like a Christian its bearable, if you drive it like you stole it (the correct way to drive it) it super heavy! haha.

What type of oil do you use and how often do you usually change it etc?
