Ok so i decided to build a man cave mame machine, so here it goes:-

Monitor T260
Logitech x230 speakers
Logitech M120 combo
P4 pc
320gb HDD
X arcade controller combo DIY Kit

It will have all the old school games + genesis and sega games too.
It runs on beer and pretzels :p

My controllers have arrived at JHB int Airport...yay...but still needs to clear customs :(



P.S. Any name suggestion for machine would be great :)
 
Looking good bud, very nice. I planned one of these ages ago and never got around to it.
 
What front end are you planning on using?

How do the controllers interface with the PC, are you using some sort of add-on board like a Jamma?

Very nice build!!
 
Have not decided yet on a front end
Controllers come from X-Arcade and have a usb interface
Dont like Jamma as it is very limited
 
names.. what about "Rcade", "Arcadia".. "MAMER" as in gamer... its been a long day okay :p

let us know when first testings will be done, i will stock up on the beer and pretzels :p
 
Ok yesterday made the speaker grills from expanded mesh

My Buttons and joystick arrived so started to wire them up and place them into control board

Made a adaptor for the switch for the controllers for the 4 modes it can do

I got a CRT and built it to fit but prefer the LCD. I agree about the extra touch but not worth the effort to do

Well I need to regain some of the R6k odd I have already spent....... so credits will be R100 each 😜

Looking really good DM, I know a guy in Cape Town that can do you vinyls for you although it will probably be easier to do them in Jozi.

My excuse is that i needed the wireless and thats the only mobo i found with wifi :p
 
Looks awesome! I like the way you mounted up the mobo and did the bracket for the expansion slots, I might just have to "borrow" that idea... Haha...
