Hi to all, so Im helping my dad look for work. He is moving in with us on Wednesday 16 September. I am trying to help him find work as the last application (today) that was advertised on the churches whatsapp group turned out to be a scam and we found out this after he resigned from his job to come to PTA (he currently resides in Baberton). So yeah, it was a kak day and I am kinda to blame for this, but had hope as it was on the whatsapp group of the church etc. Paid school fees of a R1000 from my side and my dad resigned as he was supposedly to start on Wednesday.... Me and the wife made room for him to come live with us to try and help him, and then this happened... TIA... Im not worried about the money I lost, just that I put him in a kak position in a manner of speaking from my side.

He is 64 years young and has a impressive CV in regards to security history/knowledge etc. So Im hoping that someone here on carb can help. I WILL NOT go for anything again if any of my "internal alarm bells" go off again...

Position Wanted: Any, my dad has an impressive security background. CV available on request.
Employment type: Permanent
Salary: R10k and more PM
Starting Date / Notice Period: Available from Monday 21 September 2020
Location: Living in Faerie Glen PTA
Job experience/skill: He has a good history in security and has been in Thailand for the last 9 or 10 years as an English teacher
Link to LinkedIn profile: N/A

For any queries, please do not hesitate to contact me. I will close this if I can find anything outside carb as well, just desperate to make up to him....

Not sure if this helps but Why not look for a placing at a school to teach English. Good time to start checking around as schools start working on subject allocations from now.

I have actually thought about this. Just not sure where to start. Will be putting in more effort tomorrow for sure.

Cant help you sorry, but you might want to edit the linkedin profile and tone down the caps lock.

He could teach english in Korea or Japan? There is a embassy is Pretoria and you can check up with them. But at his age they might not accept.

He doesnt want to leave SA again. So he is here to stay. Looking for something local for now.
