Heya peeps,

Anyone where the good video editor forums are for SA, I’m looking to sell my rig which is perfect for video edit and production. But need to find the right audience who don’t squirm for high end hardware :)

Any pointers would be most welcome

OK then.

Case: Thermaltake CoreX9 - Its Huuuuuuge, and is unlikely to be a victim of casual affirmative shopping, cable management not fun though so I havent bothered to much with that. Has lots of room for HDD's in Raid for media storage and scratch disks if needed
CPU: Core i9 7800X - Delidded - and sitting under an EKWB monoblock - 10 Cores 20 threads - 44 PCI lanes for lots of GPU's and NVME's
MB: Aorus X299 Gaming 7 - 2 NVME slots still open, also has the ability to do the NVME raid thing if you get a dongle, the monoblock also gets you around any x299 power heat issues
Memory: 32 GB 3200 Trident Z Gskill - 4 Memory slots still open so Jump to 64 is painless.
GPU: 2X Aorus 1080TI WB Extreme Editions
Drives: 1 512 GB Samsung PCI E 4x - the old OEM ones that uses to go into the MBP's. I also have a few 1 TB drives lying around, but they are old and probably too small for serious editing work
PSU's : Corsair 1000AX and CX 850
Cooling: EKWB custom loop with pump, 2 X 360 PE Rads, 1 X 240 SE Rad. 9x EKWB fans on the rads. 1 X Corsair ML on Rad. Loop is currently 3 months in since last clean and fill. Soft tubing 10/16 for all connects.
2 X Cosair 140 ml for case airflow and 1 120mm that I have blowing the PCI-E drive for shits n giggles.
A few fan controllers - Deepcool if I remember correctly to control all the fans.

Lots of RGB if you into that sort of thing. Only downside is your would likely need more Drives, and would probably want to extend the cable management if it bugs you. So all in all this workstation should destroy most edit tasks and serious workloads. Currently its just being used for Apex Legends, very rarely.... which is a waste....

If you guys want benchies tell what u want benched and I shall make it so.

Could you PM, the damage. I will pass this along to a Bollywood producer in CT/JHB.

I'll get back to you ASAP.

I don't see why this would need to be sold on a vid editing forum? It probably does even better at gaming than vid editing.

The only thing in that whole setup that won't go as fast would probably be the CPU. (I'm also guessing it's the 7900x and not the 7800x...)

The rest are bought and sold here on a daily basis and rather quickly, especially if your prices are realistic.
That said, I understand the frustration with not wanting to break up a system. Especially one with a custom loop.

Unfortunately, in my opinion, editors/video guys wanting to spend a lot on a "complete system" tend to be Apple sheep.

Considering the size and weight of that system, especially with that case, will limit your audience geographically.
So I'll say that one thing everyone selling a complete system hates to hear. Split it up.

Why buy that monster then want to sell it?
Priorities in life change, also this machine was built back in the haydays of mining which paid for it :)

I hear you guys on splitting, but first prize would still be to find a happy single owner :)

And yes its the 7900x, my bad
