I have recently upgraded to a Lithium (LiFePO4) Battery and Inverter System and have my old setup which still works well for keeping essentials going during loadshedding.

  • I am able to run around 150W for 4+ hours before hitting 50% DoD (Depth of Discharge).
    • This setup can run my Wootbook (even when gaming - 120W), Dell S2421HN 2nd screen, 1x Fiber CPE, 1x WiFi Router (both 12V 1A), Baby monitor & a few chargers for around 4 to 4.5 hours before hitting the 50% mark. (Total around 150W).
    • NB! It is VERY important not to run the batteries below 50% as it will damage the batteries and will seriously reduce run time.
  • The system is a 1000W 24V Pure Sine Wave Inverter UPS with built-in 15A charger.
  • Batteries are 2x Ashcom Ritar RA12-100 100AH Lead Acid batteries in Series (All cables included).
  • You only need to get a battery box as I kept my battery cabinet for my new setup (A large plastic storage crate will work).
  • Please Note:
    • Due to the nature of Lead Acid batteries, I can't guarantee how long they will still last - but at the price for the entire system, you're basically getting them for free. A friend of mine has had his LA battery for over two years and it's still working without issue (he always ensures not to go over 50% DoD though).
    • The fan on this UPS is also very loud during charging - It is recommended you run this in your garage or similar area.

Howdy! I got the Digital Energy EP15PRO (EP15-0612 PRO) - 12V 600W (Lithium & Lead Acid Capable) Pure Sine Wave Inverter UPS. If interested, PM me, then I'll send you the supplier's details.

Thanks man, yeah, it's a bit extreme on the weight side of things, the batteries are like 30kg each, inverter also probably around 10+kg.

It's actually crazy compared to my LiFePO4 setup, the inverter + battery weigh less than just my old inverter. Lol

Interter UPS and Batteries may be gone tomorrow, pending collection.

Bump for the Mini UPS systems.

El'Bumpo for the Mini UPS.

Get it now, before Loadshedding gets you...
