Why though? You hit a guy with a guitar over the head, which makes a huge bump. This bump then grows very large and creates a portal to another world allowing for robot aliens to pass through to earth! Makes 100% sense =D I think.... hahahha
By the way to those that said FLCL/FuriKuri make sure that you've watched Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagaan, it's the same Gainax insanity but making a bit more sense. No giant iron dominating 1/4 of the city in this one.
+1 for FLCL (It's just shy of 2 hours long, give it more than one watch, there is a lot to love about it).
+1 for Evangelion (thank you for giving me an existential crisis).
+1 for Full Metal Panic 1 + 2 (Fumoffu was fun too).
+1 for Trigun (that story arc, that conclusion).
For all of it's silliness Abenobashi Mahou Shoutengai was a fun romp.
Dead Leaves is a single episode that will leave you scarred (Gainax at their best).
I liked Onegai Sensei because teachers are bae <3.
Seto no Hanayome is the first and funniest anime that always pops in my head when people request an anime to watch. Definitely a must watch.
Then there is Gate, available on netflix, it was quite nice so see medieval vs modern fights.
s-Cry-ed as mentioned before, all those old classics, Trigun, Samurai champloo etc.

Haha dbz is what i watched when I was still in school and bleach actually wass my very first anime... the rest just followed.
I still like one piece tho through all the fillers ect still watch it as the new eps drops :smug:.

Your list is very similar to mine try Hunter x Hunter(new one), Death Note, Mob Psycho 100, Full Metal Alchemist(new one) and theres alot more but none come to mind right now

Just watched Kimi no Na wa. And I highly recommend it. May appear to be cliché at first, but I was truly impressed with how well it was executed. Great characters, amazing sound track and of course, gorgeous animation. Great rewatching value for me
