Friend of mine has an LGA775 setup, and is wanting to upgrade to the best CPU and RAM possible, so I hope to find the items here.

Item Wanted: LGA775 CPU - Q9550/9650/QX9650
Packaging Essential: No
Desired Age: Any
Location: CPT
Willing to accept a shipped item: I suppose.
Ballpark/Budget Amount: between free and dirt cheap. Really dont know what this old tech goes for. couple hundred bucks?

He wants to try get maxc out the RAM possible...
I believe kingston made $gb modules that are supported.

I have a 9650 with heatsink. Ram I think is 2x2GB though. PM me with an offer? I'm in JHB so would require shipping.
 
The ram will probably be impossible to find, Ebay best chance. Also try Aliexpress or ebay for old X5460 or X5460 server chips. Very cheap. I'm running two X5460 with the 771 to 775 mod. OC nicely to 3.8 and 4.0 with no strain.and on par with a I5 2500 then. What board does he have as this will be the most important aspect of this build. You can basically use any SSD( with the exception of maybe a few) but will be limited to 300MB per second transfer on the Sata 2 interface.Good luck to your friend these Core 2 Quad's still packs a punch even today
