Hi ladies and gents.

I stumbled upon this thread on Reddit and it helped me enable Freesync in the service menu on my LG 25UM58-P. Thought I'd share my find with everyone.

All credit goes to Tihamer on Reddit.

Firmware version 3.04 and older won't have support for Freesync unfortunately. Click the link to check.

With the monitor off move the joystick left three times and then right once. <<< > turn monitor on.

Enter the menu. The menu should now be the service menu in the top left corner.

In the service menu change UM58 to UM58A.

Move the joystick up again making sure nothing is highlighted in pink and press the joystick in to exit and then turn off the monitor.

Turn the monitor on again and head on over to Picture settings and then Game Adjust and enable Freesync.

Free Freesync.

Like I said Tihamer gets all the credit.

When I did that the picture on the screen looks cropped and lower in quality

Any ideas why?

That's really weird. I followed these instructions and everything works perfectly. I have mine working through hdmi port 1 to get 75hz though. Maybe compare your settings to mine and check your firmware version.

THANKS! I was considering getting a new monitor, but after stumbling across this and accessing the service menu, I'm perfectly happy with 75Hz and Ultrawide.
