Hi guys,

whats the best way to help kids aged between 9 and 15 who are interested in learning coding? What language, guides etc?

Thanks!

I have no experience with scratch itself, but I talked to a teacher once and they said scratch is a nice learning tool for children interested in coding.
I know you can build stories in the program using coding syntax etc.

Buy them an iPad and put them in front of Swift Playgrounds.

Then you can branch into robotics over time as well.

nothing new to add, except maybe :

* maybe try piper - raspberry pi, with custom minecraft. normally sold as a raspberry kit, but use a normal raspberry if you want, with image downloaded from their website

* there is also minecraft coding thing for kids.

let me know if you struggle - then I will look for the links of the above two

The two main "kiddie" friendly ones are scratch, and Alice.

If you want to continue down that road, get them something like GameMaker eventually.

Otherwise, they should switch over to a "grown-up" language somewhere in High School, possibly make them due courses that build Apps, as it's so relevant to their lives.
