Keyboard Nut Thread

Any idea of how to get my hands on a Keychron Q1 v2 brown switches? I see Keychron don't ship to SA. Use a forwarder I guess?
I just bought a KBD67 lite from mechanicalkeyboards.com

Looks like they have some Q1s, but brown switches seem out of stock.

For future reference though, they have fast service and ship to South Africa.

Thanks bud! Appreciate it!

Any recommendations for nice linear swtiches for my GMMK Pro and where to find them?
I was thinking about getting Gateron Pro Yellow's or something that comes pre-lubed or anything similar.

I just bought Akko Radiant Reds on Amazon

This is fine for stabs, I've used it before and it was as good as any dielectric grease

Where can I get a nice cable that ISN'T coiled? Something like this (although I don't need that aviator joiner thing, and also it could just be black:

I got a really good cable from Design your own cable - Cookie Atom
In my case it was a mouse cable, but they make all sorts, including USB-C cables. You can also get the components to make your own if you're so inclined

I do not. Where do I get such?
I have some spare outemu reds, but they're lubed and filmed so will feel quite different to yours, I think.

I'm sure there will be a few carbies with loads spare. I do have a brown Gateron switch for you if you are interested 👌 Based in Northcliff and work in Strydompark

Thanks both.

I treated the switch to some IPA which seems to have revived it. I'll let you know if it conks out again.

Can you really feel the difference between 62 and 68 grams?
Somewhat, I use Durock POMs daily, which are 68 grams if I remember correctly, and 62g switches always feel kind of ethereal to me at first.

Honestly, yes, but not with casual use. If you use your keyboard a lot (I'd say more than six hours a day) you do feel slight differences like the spring weight (even lubed vs unlubed).

Hey guys, not sure if I'm allowed to advertise my sale here so let me know if I must remove this post.

Anyone got recommendations for a thocky switch available in SA, linear or tactile.

I was considering them, thanks, any tactile recommendations?
