Deal Thread URL: [Sale] - Socket 1156, i5 combo | Combo (multi-item) sales & full systems

Seller:
@InCreDiBleZA
Buyer: @moforocker

Description of Bad Deal:

HI Guys,

I might be in the wrong here so please advise. I bought the combo of @InCreDiBleZA. Firstly I would like to say that my head was all over the place and the seller was very patient when I took a while
too finalize deal as I was up and down. He was really so nice and understanding when we did the deal. We started chatting 16th of March and only finalized the deal and sent the item on 1 April. I received item on the 5th Of April.

That being said, here is where I might be in the wrong. I received item the 5th but because of personal issues and family commitments I never opened it. I only opened it this week Wednesday evening (24Th) as
a buddy was looking for a quick fix for his office pc. When I opened the box the motherboard and cooler etc was very dirty which I could still live with and the motherboard had some rust, which was not mentioned, but was still not a deal breaker, and seems I missed the part where it had no IO shield, but maybe that's my fault for not asking. I then proceeded to put the item on my testbench with my buddy and it carried on staying stuck in a loop, switches on and off the whole time.

I tried different Graphics Cards, Power Supplies, Memory, Screens etc with no luck. I then sent a video to seller showing problem and if he has any idea what to do. No reply but he did read it during the night, I then
sent another watsapp and now seems he doesn't even read my watsapps although he has been online.

Again I say, please mods, if I am in the wrong for not testing straight away I will take the loss and carry on. But I don't want future buyers to have the same problem with a seller that tends to leave out important
details just to expect buyers to ask all questions regarding item. We are here as a community, and fair and honest descriptions of items should be all of our priorities, and then obviously item has to work also.

Thankx guys
mofo

@InCreDiBleZA can you explain why you ignoring the buyer ?

@moforocker you might have take time to open the parcel but it doesnt make it your fault that the item is not working as stated in the ad.
It would have been a different story if the combo was working for a week and it suddenly stopped, it just never got going according to your explanation.

I had a similar issue once on a motherboard I bought on carb. Seller forgot to place the jumper back on the bios switch. Check the manual for where it's supposed to be located. Check that the jumper is there in position normal.

Also sounds like a ram speed issue I had on a recent h61 board. I underclocked ram a little and it stabilized

Those boards have a tendency to do that, same as the p55 boards. Check if the chipset isn't overheating.

I'm literally having that exact same issue right now. Swapped boards and it would go into boot loop. Went into bios dropped ram speed to 1333 and so far so good.

Disable SPD (Serial Presence Detect) and all should be good :)

I don't think the OP can get into the bios even, what I understand is it powers on for a few seconds and shuts right back down, over and over. I had 3 1366 boards that did this, either a busted bios or the board is toast. That's why these days before I buy a combo, I request a video proving it at least boots up and into the bios.

Yeah Cant get into bios even, have done jumper setting, different memory, some gaming some normal and so on and so on.

Anyway seller contacted me, he said we can try and make a plan with refund but I will have to give him time to come up with the bucks.

Will chat to him over watsapp and put update here tomorrow

In all honesty I would find it difficult to believe my explanation myself but that is what happened thats why I am not being to pushy. I do feel I have some responsibility
in this whole thing becuase I took so long before I used it.

I eventually managed to get the power cycling under control by removing a ram chip and forcing a bios reset due to ram change prompt

Based on the seller's behavior i dont think it would have made a difference whether you tested the combo the day it arrived or much later,
The least he could say is it was working by me with certain settings, but to completely ignore the question is fishy.

@InCreDiBleZA i see you have not been on carb for a few days now, not sure why but if there's nothing from you tomorrow by 7am i will ban you permanently from carb

Same issue with an ASUS Mobo. Was a overclock profile on the RAM still set.
After the profile was removed in the Bios, it was working sweet as hot honey!
Might have to boot with no RAM first....

those boards are notoriously fussy with ram compatibility. also try a new mobo bios battery and check the battery terminals for corrosion as well.

There is rust on the board which was not mentioned so I guess it is that.......

I'm closing this @moforocker seems that some members might be able to help you solve the issue with the board, feel free to create a new thread in the relevant section if you want to ask for assistance
