It may be CDPR thats making it but the rule of thumb is: Never preorder.
In the olden times you preordered as stock could run out and the preorder would be a guarantee to receive it. Why would you want to preorder now when stock will NEVER run out on a digital item. You are basically paying dev's for a incomplete product that might never even be good.
When the game is out and the reviews has been given then it is time to buy it for me.
To this day I still watch YT videos on newly discovered "Details you may have missed in the Witcher 3" (by xLetalis) which really is a testament to the level of detail and work put into the game by CDPR. This is why I'm probably gonna end up pre-ordering the collectors edition.
