Hi All.

I bought a Plantronics Rig500 Esport editon through Evetech last year March. A few months ago my mic stopped working on it, I contacted EVETECH and was told the headset is still under warranty.
They sent me the RMA form and the courier quote, I paid the courier costs as I wanted my headset to be sorted out ASAP.
My headset was collect on the 10th of July, I had emailed Evetech a few days later to find out if they have received the headset, no reply, I then check the waybill and saw that it was delivered on he 13th. I had to phone them multiple times to get them to tell me that they did indeed receive my headset. Then when I asked them what the problem was with it I was told that they have't tested it yet, this is after they have had the headset for a week. They then gave me the excuse that because of COVID they are behind with testing the items (seems they have a lot of problematic items).

I then emailed again a week later, no reply, emailed again few days later, no reply. Then I phoned them again last week and was told that they would respond to my email ASAP, this hasn't happened yet.
I have phoned them again today and got told I need to email support, I told the oke I have been sending them multiple emails and that I want to talk to someone who can tell me what is going on. I was told i will be put through to support, I was put on hold, 5 min later I got a nice dead phoneline.

I have been trying to keep chilled with the entire issue, but I am a bit [email protected] at this moment. Evetech has had my headset ever since the 13th of July and they refuse to tel me when my headset will be tested as it seems it hasn't even been tested yet. They are quick to advertise they have good customer service, but it seems that is only the case when they get to take one's hard earned money, but when the actual service is needed they go cold.

I am not one to rant and rave about things. But COVID seems to have given them the golden opportunity to take their sweet time. All I am asking every time I have to phone them is for a date I can expect my headset to be tested. They don't respond to my emails and when you speak to someone they just tell me my headset is in the cue to be tested. Same story every time.

This shit annoys me. As someone that does warranty repairs, we've had a huge influx of volume and we dealt with it by working our asses off. To this day i am dealing with double the volume we had before lockdown, its not an excuse.

I completely understand that it is possible there are a lot more to deal with at this moment. And I appreciate that there are people like yourself that goes the extra mile to get these things sorted out ASAP. But when you are as "big" as Evetech and you can't even reply to an email.. I am not asking them to put me first, I am simply asking them for an ETA, but this seems even to much to ask for.

Sorry bud, but with Evetech it is too much to ask for, hence why they have been banned from Carbonite and now they are making some news headlines on Mybroadband

At this point you're better off buying another headset, Evecunts are gonna tell you that thy can't fix it and issue a store credit, but just to fuck you a bit more they charge for depreciation on the used item.

Basically cut your losses and take it as school fees.

Oh wait, they be banned.
Sorry can't help.
I'm just waiting for the class action lawsuit to happen
You've been watching way too many murican law shows :D Love the optimism though

Class action litigation in this country, especially given our justice system, is virtually unheard of. Yeah, there was that listeriosis thing but who here remembers the progress of that. Absolutely no loss to Tiger Brands at all.

Most likely outcome here is Evetech being slapped on their wrists after a substantial amount of money exchanges hands and ensuring certain pockets are lined, it might be called a fine but we will all know exactly what it should be called. They tweak their policies finding a more effective and borderline 'legal' way of flirting the legal grey areas to ensure the consumer is still fucked over just not as blatantly, all while their bottom line remains as unaffected as possible.

Sadly, this is South Africa after all. The sheer audacity to operate outside the confines of the law for this long is testament to how botched the system is. Fascinating to think that over the years their profits accrued from such activity would be quite substantial. Easy money at the expense of the customer. A more hardline stance needs to be taken on businesses that simply fail or refuse to conduct business within the parameter of the law. But again, this is South Africa.

Just my thoughts.

Advice, use the above information about the inner workings of Evesluit and quote the CPA at them until you are out of breath.

Email and call every single person that you can contact at that company and include the links to the MYbb article on them breaking the CPU.

They must learn.

To everyone that read my rant and that gave their advise, thank you for taking the time!
After a long month of emailing and calling every day I found a guy that works at Evetech that actually helped me out to get this thing sorted out.
They gave me a full credit for what I paid for my headset and I asked them to send me one to the same cost of what the credit was for and received the headset last week.
Have to admit I wasn't prepared to loose that money so would rather make a nuisance of myself and send multiple emails and call them every second day to get my money's worth.
So to the bloke that helped me out, Thanks.
