Hi Guys and girl

I have been looking to get a new PC for sometime now, been doing some research but not to clued up on the systems and specs so wanted some help from you guys,
Thinking of either getting one of these systems, please let me know what you would choose and any benefit from it.

i7 9700k with a z390 Gigabyte gaming x , 16GB 2666 ram with a GTX1080

Ryzen 5 3600/3600x with a B450 MSI tomahawk max or Gigabyte Aurus Elite, 16GB 3200 ram with a GTX1080

Intel works out a bit more as the MB's are more expensive and would also need a CPU cooler, i9700k go for around R5000 now so does the 3600x if you find stock, the 3600 seems to be R500 cheaper.
This will mainly be for gaming, games like call of duty warzone is the flavor of the month.

I'm also open to suggestions.

If you go Ryzen, get the 3600. The 3600X isn't worth the premium.

For purely gaming, the 9700K will be a faster. The 3600 is a more versatile chip though. 3200 RAM is the best to go for.

Personally I'd go Ryzen, partially as it's the best value for money at the moment, and partially to give Intel the finger for resting on their laurels.

I built a Ryzen 3600x system about 3 months ago (there was no stock on 3600) with Corsair 3600 RAM.

As a 10 year Intel fanboy, this is my first AMD, and honestly Im loving it. It just works. got a stable all core overclock at 4350mhz, Ram is stable at 3866mhz, and it hasnt given any problems for me. Definitely best bang for your buck imo

Thanks for all the mentions, Yes I can definitely help out with a CPU (even a combo).

Go for a B550 mobo if you'd like to future proof a little (will up the budget but you get PCI-E gen 4 support and Zen 3 aka ryzen 4000 support too).

Drop me a PM and I can give some advice.

What year is it?

If you don't have serious cud(compulsive upgrade disorder). Why not wait till ryzen 4000 is out and pick up ryzen 3600 cheap at Black Friday.. 😂 That is if there won't be stock problems in the future and you can afford to wait.

I would prefer intel thou for gaming. But ryzen 4000 will be the first time I'll consider team red. If the hype is true.

@Senshi can advise you here kind sir and @UrBaN @Andrew_Smith I believe he has an AMD rig recently built up
What am I, chopped liver?

Either would be a good option. I might go for 10th gen Intel over a 9700K but pricing in a key factor.
You could easily get a B450 board an a 3600 for a really good price and have a good all round gaming and multi tasking PC.

If you just want a gaming rig, go Intel.

Just because I'm a soutie, doesn't mean I can't use South African colloquial slang to insult you.

I thought a bunch of skater kids to say Jou ma se £%"$ yesterday.

Did I not tell before you not in SA also you let me down on the coffee meetup I offered #Stillsour about this ;) not you might go for a 10 gen it is always a pleasure to say intel is uhm better in gaming ain't it ?
