Intel 9400f or Ryzen 2600x?

Hello everyone hope you are all well. As the title says Intel 9400f or Ryzen 2600x for gaming mostly? Want to upgrade to either one once I've sold my current setup and a complete setup (posted on carb).

9400F: 6/6; 4.1GHz boost, no OC; Intel cooler (?)
2600X: 6/12; 4.2GHz boost, OC possible; decent AMD cooler, 2 free games

For games that focus on clock speed 2600X wins; for games that focus on threads AMD wins.
AMD wins in this case.

If you are building an ITX PC then you might consider the intel as it has a 65W TDP, where the AMD has 95W TDP.

Good video. Seems the 9400F is somewhat better in games. The 1% lows could probably swing things for AMD.

Great video thanks. I'm leaning more towards the 9400f seeing as my budget will definitely not stretch far enough to get 3400mhz ram and it seems with anything less the 9400f seems faster in most games. Then again the upgrade path for ryzen is very tempting

Neither. Try to wait for ryzen 3000. Its close enough to launch that its worth it to wait.

Might wait for ryzen 3000 yes and see how they are. Might take that long to sell my current components anyway or by then we might have ryzen 4000 lol

You can pick up a 2600 for the same price as the 9400f, why not do that while waiting for the prices of the 3000s to come down?
