What's good tech heads..

Just in time to start your week off right and make sure it is not a blue Monday, there is no need to wait any longer as my full review on the In Win 101C computer chassis is complete. Firstly, I would like to apologise for the delay. This was due to sourced internal components arriving later than expected for the featured build to showcase the capabilities of the 101C as well as certain personal issues.

Once again, I would like to thank both Rectron & In Win for the review unit. As stated previously you can gather more information on both organisations at:

In Win 101C computer chassis

A case would typically be the first thing someone notices when building a Computer. It is essentially the shell which protects the precious internal components but this does not have to be its only purpose. Understanding that the shell is the item people tend to put the least focus on since it does not add to the performance of a system, it does enhance the effect it has on the aesthetic aspect of the overall build. With any product I have come across in my lifetime, I usually tend to recommend products of a company which has an outstanding reputation and a company like In Win does not disappoint.

In Win is widely known for their structural works of art in the computer chassis segment as well as the pricing for these cases, but what they are known more for is the quality and innovation they bring in terms of the design and technology which is adapted into their products. I recently got my hands on the In Win 101C Chassis. This sleek mid-case is a revised version of the original 101 but with an added modern-day twist. A USB 3.1 Type-C now features on the top panel of the case as well as the introduction of an RGB controllable LED integrated into the front logo facia of the chassis.

Packaging

The case is shipped in a double wall cardboard box which features the In Win 101 branding text and logo in the top right-hand corner & centre respectively of the side panel as well a hexagon pattern design along the left-hand side. Once I removed the product from the external packaging, I was greeted by two perfectly moulded polystyrene paddings which were enclosed either end of the plastic wrapped 101C. I highly recommend having this product shipped and not having to worry about any damages as the packaging is very secure and enough to keep the unit safe and undamaged.

Aesthetics & Case Specs

Once all the packaging had been removed. The In Win 101C could be really observed and all the finer details came to life. The case is created of two SECC rolled steel panels (Front + Top = 1st panel & Bottom + Back = 2nd Panel) finished off in pure white (Other available colour(s) include: Stealth Black). At the touch the case is immensely sturdy and sleek in design, this adding to the quality of In Win products.

The 101C case sports an RGB LED front logo Facia, including the power button in this sleek design. A small HDD activity light is found just below the power button in form of a circular cut out.

The right panel includes a honey comb shape cut out for increased airflow management and can be removed by rotating then pulling the two pins located near the top left and right corner of the panel.

The left side of this gaming chassis includes a full tinted tempered glass panel which can be removed with ease by the two pull taps located in a similar position as that of the pins on the right panel. The 101C carries the latest cutting-edge technology, which supports motherboards with USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C. Located on the top of the box users can also access the convenience of the revisable Type-C port, 2 x USB ports, audio out and a headphone jack.

In Win designed the 101C to not only support four x 2.5” and two x 3.5” drive bays, but also mount a specialized GPU holder that provides extra support for your graphics card. The 3.5" driver bays are removeable by simply pulling right on the tab end and sliding them out, These two driver bays can also host SSD drives by simply lining them up and securing them into place with screws provided. Lets not forget that the bays also sport the In Win branding for a touch of class. Furthermore, two of the four 2.5“SSD mounts are cleverly positioned in on the right-hand side tray behind the motherboard, which takes advantage of the interior space.

The 101C provides high flexibility with cooling performance. Overall, it can support up to 6 x 120mm fans simultaneously, which enhances cooling performance. The top PSU chamber not only makes the system cleaner without interfering with the motherboard and graphics card area. Furthermore, the embedded bottom dust filter allows users to remove the dust filter without any restrictions. The Full specifications of the In Win 101C can be found below images:

Lastly the In Win 101C mid computer chassis includes a clear zip lock bag which carries a number of necessary components to help with the build process of your rig. From a business card which allows consumers to access the user manual for the 101C through the dedicated barcode. It also includes a GPU bracket to support older sagging graphic cards, a selection of cable ties, washers, SSD mounting screws, fan mounting screws, pillars for the motherboard support and a 4 pin RGB couplet.

I am aiming to create a build to showcase the InWin 101c computer chassis in all its glory and my build will consist of the parts which have been acquired through donations from friends and relatives. The In Win 101C case is available for around $70 on Amazon or an average of R1100.00 - R1300.00 in South Africa through various retailers

Personal Views & Showcasing Build

The In Win 101C was astonishingly effortless to work with, from fitting in the internal components to the cable management. All cut outs lined up neatly and there was more than enough space to have access the inside of the case when I wanted to move certain components about or change the layout of my design. This is certainly one gaming case that is only considered as budget in terms of the pricing. I would recommend the In Win 101C as I feel it ticks all the boxes for what you need a computer chassis to be and it carries forward the highest quality in materials and design at the fraction of the price in a high-end product.

The 101C is a steadily crafted artwork and will fit in perfectly with any modern or contemporary set up, whether the setup is fully focused on a gaming theme or a more basic & plain office layout, The In Win 101C chassis is bound to capture the eyes of anyone who passes by it. It is also not to heavy even with the internals in it so it will be a hassle if you want to reposition the case in your set up or take rig to gaming events or just simple Lan sessions with your friends.

(Let’s be honest, no one purchases a case with a full tempered glass panel if they are not trying to showcase their awesome looking components or at least trying to create a real vibey lightshow).

Another neat touch from In Win was the additional that of small accessories zip lock bag full of screw, support mounts and cable ties. This really helped as the parts I had received did not come with these and I did not need to go out of my way to purchase this. They really thought ahead when it came to making this case accessible and complete for their customers. There is a ton of value for your buck in this case as the case can also be set up with a liquid cooling system if that is a requirement for your own particular build.

Disclosure: All parts included in this build were sourced via donations from friends, family as well as the 101C case which was provided by Rectron & In Win. These components are not at the highest spectrum of products currently available in the market but are definitely worth a look at if you are building a rig that is not too costly and will be able to run majority of today’s games with ease. Bear in mind that the purpose of this thread is to showcase the benefits of In Win 101C chassis and not the internal components.
