Just resurrecting the thread a bit. I had absolutely no idea it was so cheap to import the MX5. I've always wanted one and have been a serious fan of Mazda.

In plain and simple terms I have no relatives in Lesotho or Swazi, would there then be no way of registering the vehicle in SA?

You can't register it in SA, but if you where able to get someone there to register it for you in their country, then you could just keep it on their plates, but think you going to have no SA insurance on it. Only the one that you get at the border renew every 6 months.
