Note:
I had a R290x Strix in PCI - E slot 1 - That gave me issues saying the driver stopped working and has recovered. This never happened when gaming so i just kept on gaming till one day the card stopped. PC would not turn on with card in the slot or any other slot for that matter. So i got 1070 and after a few hours it said the same thing so i just used slot........ the third slot i think from the top. That seemed to clear up the issue. When it happened once in slot one i changed slots since i thought it might be the motherboard slot and i did not want my card to die. I have to also say that i was using drivers that windows installed at the time so might be nothing.

Cleaned slot of dust and installed new windows 10 then new drivers and ran 1080TI in slot with no issues for about 2 hours of Metro gaming. Problem might be solved
