Mostly long gaming sessions. But I did run p95 just to see the max temps and it held in the mid 80's.

I'm pretty damn sure that Silicon Lottery wasn't around back then.

Anyway, easy way to test for 5 GHz. Set Vcore to 1.55v, multiplier to 50x, and boot. If it makes it into Windows you'll eventually get it stable, probably even at a lower voltage (provided temps are under control) My 2600K ran 5 GHz on air cooling back in the day so it's very much possible if the multiplier works and you can control temps.

The silicon lottery usually refers to overclocking limits, any overclockable series of CPU's can qualify.
