hey guys, is anyone here an htc fundi? i bought a htc one m9 which is rooted to some version called android revolution 14.0 android 5.1. Im a complete noob with rooted phones, like talking to a woman about a car, i havent a slightest clue of whats going on, so would really really appreciate it if someone could do the whole shabbang for me... i want it back to stock, thats all...im in kensington, jhb east...so preferably someone in jhb...

Ummm, give me a few minutes to have a look and see what I can do. I have never done an HTC but should not be too difficult

If you say it should be easy then you are the man for the job...I've read at least 10 different articles on it and the more I read the more I get confused..

is your HTC S-locked or unlocked?

or did just unlock the boot loader?

prepare yourself....HTC is not like any other Android phone for rooting and fully unlocking...

i wish i knew this before rooting the phone...lost a good a few weeks off my life learning about the under belly of the HTC rooting world

Yeah, it does seem very different. I am used to LG, Samsung, Huawei. But I have never tried an HTC. Seems particularly difficult. Not sure why

its s-off so i assume thats unlocked... i tried something yesterday, really not sure what i did, and it got stuck on a reboot screen, i eventually managed to recover the phone using twrp.. im way in over my head here..

is this phone 2nd hand cause you would have needed to TWRP to load android revolution.

If its S-off then you very lucky and wont have to pay for it to be unlocked. This will make loading the original RUU a lot easier.

yes i bought 2nd hand...doesnt seem easy though to get to stock...maybe ill just leave it as is...

i bricked mine like D.E.D after messing around with to many roms before realizing how complex those phones partitioning systems are and how secure they are. Pity though cause i really like the phone.

I'd would keep it on the current rom if its working, playing on a S-OFF phone is to risky.

its easy enough to get it to load the original RUU but the problem is not knowing which exact M9 you have. There is no ZA M9 RUU firmware on the HTC dev page. You need to find the exact one that matches your phones exact model criteria, which there are plenty variations of.

This is off the HTC firmware page.

WARNING: If your Bootloader or device software has been modified, you may run the risk of damaging your device by installing the RUU.

I tried loading one RUU from the HTC page that I downloaded but gave me an error..

I downloaded another one from xda forums but since it's not the official Rom there's a different method to follow with adb and fastboot and that's where I get lost...

The phone works fine with the current Rom but my banking app does not want to work with it because it's rooted..
