I want to dabble in electronic builds and repairs and this is a tool I need on a budget. Other electronics repair/maintenance tools and gear is also welcome (but has to be a good price, if so)
There are some attractive options on eBay (~ R650) with free shipping but I'm not sure how customs and clearance will work - can someone please advise on this if you know?

I also don't mind a separate soldering iron with attachments (since I think the combo iron is not as high quality as the Magnums we used during apprenticeship training)
Please do bear in mind it should have temperature control and I can't afford a Magnum unfortunately, unless you can offer something decent for a good price :)

Another thing is I need to sell something first in order to buy this so I'm just putting this up for now so I may have options once I do have the cash for it
Thanks (y)

Item: Hot air rework station
Age: Not a big concern but please do detail maintenance and when last parts have been changed (if they have)
Price: R0 - R2000 total
Warranty: Nah, knowing the condition and lifespan is more important
Packaging: Preferred but not a big deal
Condition: Please detail condition as much as you can - service logs, parts replacement, expected lifespan etc. Since I'm on a budget I don't mind a quality device I can do small part replacement/cleaning/repair (but hopefully won't be necessary)
Location: Boksburg, Gauteng
Reason: New hustle, adding much needed skill on my C.V.
Shipping: 100%
Collection: If you can deliver I can pay for your petrol
Links (as examples, doesn't have to be exact):

Heat gun:

Soldering station / kit:

Helping hand / 3rd hand (with lamp):

Do you perhaps know if the station uses silicon cables for te iron and heat gun? What shipping option did you choose?
Mmmm, doesn't feel like silicon cables, but the quality, in general, is pretty good in my opinion. It is a small unit though, so be sure to check the youtube reviews. There are quite a few on the site.

I always take the "to South Africa via South Africa Direct Mail (Tax Free)" option as it gets shipped via courier to your doorstep without a call from customs asking to pay duties.

Thanks for the info! The reviews do look pretty good, I mean for te money not having silicone cables aint that bad at all.
