Horizon: Zero Dawn Is Coming To PC

If only i could use my points to buy games during summer sale... Had over 20k points... bought some profile stuff and a badge instead.

Brilliant game.. considering a replay on PC. But even on PS4 at 30 frames it was a masterpiece. Edit: This game with HDR is next level beautiful. The HDR implementation on PS4 was amongst the best I have seen in a video game.

I hope you all got it yesterday, gone up from R269 to R680 on Steam.

Glad I got it yesterday. Sucks that some publishers go back on their initial great regional pricing.
Reminds me of when Metro Exodus gold was +-R370 on PC and went to R900+ the next day.

HZD is still +-R375 on the Epic Games Store though.

Detroit looks amazing on PC. Cant wait to get Horizon Dawn. Im glad i did not finish the game on PS4.
Detroit is a stunning looking game. Finished my first playthrough last week. I had a blast. Amazing game.

Sucks for those who didn't buy Horizon Zero Dawn on PC yesterday. You snooze you lose.

I really thought we just had great regional pricing. So happy i jumped on it quick.

I dropped 100 hours on HZD PS4. Too many other games I wanna play before I replay it on PC. Well done to all who bought it at 269. Probably the best deal on Steam at the time. It's a really solid game that's very easy to immerse yourself in.

Such a bargain at R269 on Steam. Nice to see them add dynamic foliage, better reflections and more options for PC.

I see in the vid they have graphics presets such as "Favor performance" , "Original" (I'm guessing PS4 equivalent ?), "Favor Quality" and "Ultimate". Keep to see how Ultimate runs.
Well it's not anymore :(

Sucks. I'll just have to buy it on IPT, they'll probably run a promo a day or two after it's released.

There was something about the price shooting up because people where abusing the VPN connectivity to get the game cheap from other regions...could be the reason why it is now gone up to R680...damn, i missed out on this....

I came across an article somewhere that you can get the game cheaper on the Epic games store...so i went to have a look, and Epic games has the game currently for $22 on pre-order. Game Releases on 7th August, if i am not mistaken. Assuming, it will still be at that price once it launches (might go up a bit perhaps ... not sure), and from the previous Epic Games Store Sale, when redeeming GTA V for free you got a $10 discount coupon (which cant be used on pre-orders), you could get it for a minimum of atleast $12. Just depends if the price goes up after launch and by how much as well.

Havent purchased anything from the Epic store, so i dont know much about that process in terms of security, etc. Also, Epic's game library management does suck in that you cant move games to different folders or import games from previous folders as easily as Steam can.

May be an option to consider.

Same here. Was busy and forgot to pick it up :(

Guess no chance it will come down in price again to what it was ?

Apparently the coupon doesn't work on the game

It wont work on the pre-order...wait for it to get launched then the discount coupon should work. From the article i read, it indicated the same as well.

Price has shot up now on the Epic Store to 40 dollars....

PC reviews out.

Looks like it's a crappy port, which is disappointing. Poor performance overall, and no DLSS.

Gonna be saving this one for my 3080.

Apparently there`s a day one patch to fix all those issues which were not yet applied to the version all reviews are based on right now. Best to wait though.

One of the DigitalFoundry guys said he already had it and it didn't change much unfortunately.

Fine if you got it for the cheap pre-order price before it shot up xD

Keyboard and mouse controls must just be usable and not shit and I'll be happy.

And the Digital Foundry vid is up. Interesting, especially the PCIE tests.

A little under 9 hours left then we can all jump in and hopefully not get dissapointed.

This is disappointing. Same engine as Death Stranding and performance difference night and day. Hope they patch it proper. I'll play it nonetheless for now.

Played it for a bit. Game looks beautiful - much prettier than Death Stranding.

After watching the DF video I am running 1440p Ultimate but with shadows on high, and clouds/reflections/ambient occlusion on medium.
I downloaded the NVIDIA 451.85 hotfix driver and also enabled Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling in Windows 10.
I also disabled vsync in game and in the NVIDIA control panel, and enabled 16x Anisotripic Filtering in the NVIDIA control panel.

The benchmark is a big fat lie. My 1080Ti is averaging 93 in the benchmark but is actually sitting at 70FPS running around in a forest in the game.

The hitches are annoying but I've played worse games at launch (Anthem, ME Andromeda).
I'm not noticing the 30fps animations that much.

Some serious memory usage. 11.5Gb RAM and a whopping 10.5Gb VRAM usage on a 11Gb 1080Ti - and this is just at 1440p.

I've got other games to enjoy so I'm still gonna wait until the bugs are patched and performance is improved.
