Hi smart people

My wifi is clogged up. Too many devices. Need advice.

So my current setup is:

fiber 100/100mb -> wifi fiber router -> lan cable-> wifi extension ap -> 20 devices

Its got bandwidth control and I limit bandwidth based on IP. Its no where near using full 100mbps capacity but its getting intermittent downtime and signal drops at peak times.

So I'm thinking of doing the following:

fiber 100/100mb -> wifi fiber router
-> lan cable-> wifi extension ap ->7 devices
-> lan cable-> wifi extension ap -> 7 devices
-> lan cable-> wifi extension ap -> 7 devices

Will it help? because what I'm seeing isn't internet speed being slow but router struggling with so many connections.

Thanks

Is the Wifi extension AP a 5GHz or 2.4GHz access point? 2.4Ghz would very easily bogged down.

Good lawd! Are you running a Starbucks with that amount of connected devices?!

Second option should be fine, just make sure that your router is also a big boy.

WIFI sharing. 🙈

I got openDNS to block dodgy sites and downloads, Bandwidth control to like 2mbps per device.

No idea how mesh wifi works. 🤷‍♂️
