Home theatre PC Upgrade advice needed

Use KODI.... there's a few steps to do but will be up and running within a few minutes

If getting a LAN cable to Mi Box is out of the question then get powerline adapters and use a USB to LAN converter. I know from experience the Mi Box is iffy on wifi if too far or to close to router
Will check this out, wasn't aware of A USB to Lan converter but this might be something to consider. 👍

I picked up a cheap (R199) USB to LAN converter at a Pick n Pay... got in the roof with my bierpens lost a litre or 2 body liquids sweating and pulled a lan cable from the front of the house to our room which is furthest away from router:p

It works with no issues!

Thanks man, really appreciate the advice. Will try it out over the weekend. As i already have the mi box I might as well give it a go.

For Kodi you'll have to create a shared folder on pc so KODI can see it via network

Follow these steps on pc first depending on what version windows you running, turn on sharing in network settings, go to KODI and add location from network>windows smb...add your windows server name (eg: DESKTOP-xyzabc123) manually and Kodi should then see your shared media folder on the Mi Box
