DAC - Converts digital signal to audio signal.

Audio signal is compose of voltage and current to move the headphone driver voice coil (the resistive element)

Amp will amplify the audio signal if the resistive element is too large to move the voice coil.

So if we have a dedicated DAC/Amp, technically we should have better more powerful audio signal feeding into the headphone to create better sound.


But electronics have come quite a long way since their inception. They are good enough that for most people, this would be a non factor these days. Headphones, in my opinion, provides like 80% of the experience and adding a dedicated DAC/Amp would allow you to reach 90%.


You should hear what my dad says about me buying dedicated DAC. [emoji39]

Meaning it'll run on basically anything that can output sound and not sound quiet as a church mouse.

But just like anything else it'll run even better on something that pumps out more juice higher up the audio food chain.


That's all he wanted guys, don't over-complicate things just yet.
