Yeah, most of those sources end up offering more or less the same content. The main issue is that Crunchyroll is missing a lot of anime I want to watch. I usually just download everything from Nyaa, add it to Plex, and stream it from there. If a service doesn't have a proper app for smart TVs, it's a dealbreaker for me.Myanimelist and anidb are likely to be far better sources to determine top X, crunchyroll [used to] only count based on the viewership numbers of the shows on their platform, which has an artificial limitation based on which shows they are able to get licenses for and which licensed show they are allowed to offer based on country or regional agreements, furthermore crunchyroll historically only offered dubs and only fairly recently now offered simulsubs (but simulsubs typically suffers from low quality translations, which impacts on viewership), resulting in a lot of the legacy/veteran crunchyroll anime viewers being more likely to be dub watchers, which automatically filters out a lot of anime as most anime don't get dubbed.
