Hello there,

I have some old HP 146GB 10K SAS Drives. I don't know if they work but I would like to know if there's some way to connect them to a desktop to check the health of the drives.
Any help would be appreciated.

Not worth the time of you ask me, they're basically like R100-200 each if you find a buyer.

SAS unlike SATA needs a dedicated controller card to access,so you'd need somebody with a SAS card and the right cable/pin adapter to connect it to

Depending also on if the drives were setup in RAID. If they were, you not getting anything from them. I suspect it would have been a RAID config

you only need a raid card wit the right cables, drives will still show up on bootup and would be able to tell the controller to remove the config its picking up from the disk. some qnaps are equipped to also take SAS drives so you might be able to use that if you know someone that has one.

also some board will actually read sas drives with these cables (will not show up in windows if was raid but in computer management under storage and disk management)
