Hi! Let me start off by saying I'm not entirely sure if this is even the right forum location for this 😅

I've picked up this from someone that came along with a lot of older tech:

Problem is that it doesn't seem to go with anything I got, nor does it look like anything I've ever seen.
The knob itself works like a rotating switch, turning only about 20 degrees left to right.
The box doesn't have any branding, part number or serial number. I also have no clue what the connectors are, though I'm guessing the two with pins would fit parallel ports?

Does anyone here recognize it or have some idea of what it was used for??

Looks like a LPT port splitter.
One port on PC connected to two printers.

Selecting between them?

EDIT : Actually, 2 PC's one printer.
Yes this is what I would be betting on two... Two pc sharing old printer.

That would make sense, I guess the separate coloured LED's would show which computer has access to it at the time? Or a standby/active indicator?

Centronics interface 2 to 1

Hard disconnect for extra security(i am not kidding)

That can be used for many other things....

Awesome, thanks for all the responses!
