HELP: Adding/removing music from OG iPod without MacOS

That's quite interesting actually. Do you think it's intentional?

Who knows. Possibly. But given its not published anywhere at all and doesn't throw up an error message I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say they're just shit coders.
I mean Itunes was once capable of bootlocking Vista so its not exactly known for stellar coding.

I will dig more into how to use iTunes and report back. Please don't mistake me for a moron @SauRoN, it's rather sardonic of you.

Nah dude it’s not that at all.

I’ve just never understood why people look for this party tools that always fail at some point instead of just using the software literally made for the hardware.

You don’t need to create a playlist or anything, just drag and drop what you want on the iPod.

Had it been newer could even have done it wirelessly.

Im amazed that no one has mentioned he should use an old version of iTunes. Something like 11.3 should work. Anything newer will not.

Why not?

They haven’t dropped hardware support as far as I know?

Also if you just want to remove everything there is a factory reset function built in.

1. Slide Hold switch on and off again.

2. Hold Menu and Center button simultaneously until Apple logo appears.

Because you didn't read my other posts? Its more of glitch than a planned support drop.
Only half the sync buttons are there (all the library ones) and they don't do anything. All the track ones are not unless you have an older version of iTunes.

Not quite sure which buttons you are referring to but I’ll take your word for it as I never used iTunes in a sync capacity setup.

I’ve always just dragged and dropped what I wanted.

Man, if you want to come pay me a visit I'm happy to look at it on my PC. Seems like more effort than such an old device is worth but there's something really cool about those old things, I'd love to try jailbreaking it with Rockbox:

Why You Should Ditch Your MP3 Player’s Firmware In Favour Of Rockbox
Breathe New Life Into Your Classic Old iPod With These Top Tips

After multiple attempts I have now given up and will Rockbox this thing. The SO refuses to sell it so I'm going to snoop around for an OG firmware for this iPod Classic then do the format/update to Rockbox.

Yeah I know, two pages where no on agrees with me, I get it, this isn't the iPod's fault, it's mine.

I would have Rockboxed it from the beginning tbh. Something that old you may as well jailbreak it to have fun.

Maybe try an older version of Itunes from a few years back :p

Thank you for the comments, it triggered something in the recesses of my grey matter.
I went to my "Drivers & Programs" folder and did a search for "sharepod".
I found the version I used to use in 2013, v3.9.7.

Works 100%, just built a new playlist for 2019 and added Conan's new album to the list. Tested and working 100% on the iPod.

The power was within me all this time. :ROFLMAO:
Gonna close this thread later today so you can laugh at me till then.

For the record, I hate iTunes.
