You'll lose that arm and leg if you don't get a decent helmet so see it as an investment in your health.
Agreed, but what burns my but is that it is 40% cheaper outside of SA. A good helmet is worth for your safety

I tried on two helmets last night - a large Shark size I can barely get into and out of.
I can't remember the other model but it was better. Still tight but I could get used to it.

So far the negotiations with the GF are not going well but I'm not giving up.

The prices on helmets are insane in SA. Just upgraded to a Shoei Hornet Navigate Helmet, and paid an arm and a leg for it in SA.
Ah man that's exactly the lid I'd really love to have. Fits me b-e-a-utiffully but yeah, too much money.

I'v actually found that helmet prices are not that crazy here; there are just certain brands that are expensive for some reason. You also get much better sales deals in the States.
As an example, you can pick up a Shoei Hornet Navigate for R9900 here. It's $716 in the States = R9430...

You should measure your head to determine the correct size (all helmet manufacturers have a chart displaying head size in cm vs helmet size), and remember some helmets are oval shaped and some round shaped. Then try to see which fit best.

Dude the helmet is awesome such a lekker fit and you can take the peak off. I only use the peak when I go adventure riding. The pinlock systems are great and this helmet comes with one. I brought mine before the special came out at Trac Mac so I paid full price. I don't believe in buying a helmet you cannot fit first, hence the reason not really hunting for a cheaper one as I would spend R500 just driving shop to shop.

Late to the party, but I bought a Nolan N63 (same one Casey Stoner used in MotoGP a few years back, but in plain gloss black) for R750 brand new from the Nolan/X-lite dealer directly for....

Wait for it...

R750! They were going for about R4500 to R5000 at the time but it was old stock and they had just released the N64 so I got a HUGE bargain.

I've had it for three years or so now and I still love it. I slapped a mirror finish visor on it and WHAM, I feel like Ghost Rider haha. If you want the guy's number to see what he has, PM me and I'll share it with you.
