Headsets for every budget thread

From which store did you order?

Also, on a separate note, I can't seem to find the V-Moda Boompro available anywhere? I was considering that along with SHP9500, but alas the only one available on Amazon is used.
Ordered through @XtaCy696

Yeah, I went with the MH751 because a lot of the other next best options would have meant importing or they were End of Life (I would have gone HyperX Cloud II as they came with Velour pad replacements in the box).

However I'm sure I'll be happy with these.
My only pitfall to them so far would be the ear pads not being easy to source replacements for.

For those playing at home, the HyperX Cloud II's are back on takealot it seems.

They finally arrived yesterday.

I thought I'd take some nice unboxing pics and then tested them.

Comfort is brilliant, I love them so much on this point.

Sound is also fantastic. Will see how mic goes when I actually do some online gaming.

So far I'm very impressed for the price, definitely worth it.

@XtaCy696 Mind pm'ing me with price etc if you can still source these please? I'm also keen. :)

I wish the Beyerdynamic DT770 wasn't so overpriced in SA. My pair is going on 9 years old now and it still sounds fantastic, but it could definitely do with some new pads.

R 3 450 for the 32 ohm, which isn't that bad, and is way less than buying them on Amazon and having them shipped here ($ 180 + 70 = $ 250, around R 4 100).

Maybe check with them if they have replacement pads for you?

Anyone try steelseries arctis wireless ? Looking for a good wireless headset but these seem overpriced.

Decent deal

And they sound damn good. Can testify. Still plan to make a more informative post about them a little later or maybe tomorrow or day after.

Edit: Post made

I think these absolutely deserve to fit into the sub 2K slot in the first post of this thread.

Hmm? I thought you were after the G-Pro X Wireless?

And that even if you don't grab that you were only into the Wireless headsets these days?

My son's birthday is around the corner and he would love a wireless headset. His desktop PC does not have bluetooth but I have a Microsoft XBOX wireless PC controller at home that he hardly use at all. Will that dongle work with bluetooth headphones ?

AFAIK it doesn't connect.
You would need a BT adapter for that

Good deal here for someone looking for a good closed headset (i.e. someone buy them before I do please).

Morning chaps

OK so i recently bought a pair of Fedilio X2HR's and really want to start using them as my daily driver and move the G Pro's to the office.
So obviously i need a mic to pair with the cans as well as something to drive them a more than my onboard can.

So going by suggestion in the thread, i have kinda found the following:

Samson C01 Condenser microphone
SP01 shock mount
Samson dual layer pop filter
Behringer UMC22 / UMC202HD

Now my question is, will the UMC22 have enough power to run the cans or should i look at the UMC202HD.
I don't want to go buy the cheaper of the 2 and find it doesn't do what i need or i buy the more expensive and find the cheaper one would have sufficed.
In terms of mic pre-amps they both have the same, its pretty much just more features on the 202HD.

If anyone can give me some advise i would appreciate it as i'm really trying to not spend a fortune.

TIA

Morning chaps

So over the last week i upgraded my setup at home.

Previous:
Logitech G Pro X

New:
Philips Fidelio X2HR - R2500
FiFine K669 kit with boom arm and filers - R1149

So from the audio side, these cans have opening up a new avenue of listening pleasure for me.
I do still want to get a small DAC/Amp as i think that these cans can sound a bit better with a nice piece of gear and am looking at the following:

Massdrop x Grace Design Standard DAC - $80
Drop O2 Headphone Amplifier - $95

Luckily i have a mate planning a trip state side so import and courier won't be a problem.

Also am looking at getting a pair of HD6XX in the next year and this bundle should handle perfectly.

With regards to the mic, its great, well its almost great. It would be great but the pickup is rather kaka if you not directly in front of the mic. However i knew this before buying it so its not a train smash.
I'll probably end up upgrading to their better model if it becomes an issue. Oh yes and a mute button on the mic would be awesome as well.

So, if you looking for something like i was and you have a R3.5k budget, i would wholeheartedly recommend this setup as even using my on-board sound, its great.

Will post some setup photo's later.

Nice, the X2HR is a fantastic grab.
Was that the straight up Amazon import cost or did you locate a local one somewhere?

Managed to find a local pair.
It's amazing though, every time I play a game now it feels so different becauseof the audio.
