Good Day All
I am in search of a new pair of headphones (on or over ear) that can do a bit of everything. I am looking for the best bang for buck but want a quality pair of headphones that will last 3+ years. Below what I will mostly be using the headphones for.
Work / Zoom meeting - 40%
Listening to music / podcat - 20%
Travel / Commute - 20%
PC Gaming - 10%
PS 5 Gaming / Connected to TV - 10%
Budget -- 5k but can be stretched. (Just don't want to pay for small audio upgrades I won't notice)
Open to any brand but prefer big brands Jabra, Sony etc
Thanks

Thanks. I'll have a look. Much appreciated.@RougeRogue some good headphone advice here
DACs are kind of a solved problem really. Amplification, particularly the output stages offer a bit more of a difference than modern DACs. That said, I still recommend some people get a dedicated device (even a dongle) because most if not all headphone jacks out of motherboards and cases have a high output impedence, which changes the frequency response of DD headphones, especially DD IEMs. Planars are an exception to this, but they usually require more current than what motherboards, phones and cases provide anyway.![]()
Don't waste your money on a DAC
Do you really need an external DAC for better audio? Most audio setups don't benefit from pricey DACs and what truly improves sound quality.www.soundguys.com
Just leaving this here...
In a perfect world, I would have forked out cash to buy the cans posted above. XM6 would be a lekker treat!
Hi everyone,
My Sony WF-1000XM4 are just over 3 years old, and the left earbud only charges to about 60%. Battery life has dropped to roughly an hour.
Is this essentially an end-of-life situation, or is battery replacement/repair still a viable option? I’d be willing to spend around R1000+ on a repair if possible, rather than replacing them entirely.
If repair isn’t practical, what would you recommend as a good replacement? I’m currently using cheap earbuds as a stopgap, but the difference in ANC and sound quality is very noticeable.
Thanks.

the original batteries are ZeniPower Z55H, R200-ish for 2, repair is fairly easy, E6000 adhesive is about R130, good as newHi everyone,

Have you replaced a battery in one of these? Where did you get the batteries?the original batteries are ZeniPower Z55H, R200-ish for 2, repair is fairly easy, E6000 adhesive is about R130, good as new
Lekker! Did you have to heat them up a lot to separate? Are they still going strong?
didn't require much heat, could pop them open with squeezing pressure right after some heat, still going strong and he uses them daily for gymLekker! Did you have to heat them up a lot to separate? Are they still going strong?
Debatable 🤣@Andrew_Smith , repair them dude! Sommer the battery in your charging box as well. Cyberbeast said he will replace them for free if it doesn't work out.![]()
normally I would, but work has me training new staff, probably going to be away for 2 months, but if I'm back and you're still up you can let me know, I'll DM you@Cyberbeast93 would you be open to repair for me? Will pay for your time and the parts of course.
I feel I have nothing to lose and might be able to save them which will honestly be awesome!
I'm willing to take a look for you. But I'm not sure back & forth Gauteng courier costs will make it worth for you.@Cyberbeast93 would you be open to repair for me? Will pay for your time and the parts of course.
