Hey guys,

I am looking to purchase a HDMI 2.1 display as an external monitor for my 2021 Razer Blade 14. However, there seems to absolutely zero options available locally at present.

Does anyone perhaps know when we can expect to see stock of these monitors locally, and if so, which options would you recommend?

Thanks :)

I know Pinnacle was working on bringing in the LG 27GP950-B. This was delayed indefinitely though due to the KZN riots and the LG factory being looted.

you really dont need HDMI 2.1 unless you planning to game at 8k.

A HDMI 2.0 is perfectly sufficient for the next few years of content/gaming

It's not so much a need, as it is a want for HDMI 2.1. The laptop has the capabilities/features available, so why not take advantage of it?

If I was to consider other options however, what would you recommend that I look at?

It seems that everywhere I have asked looks at me as if I am crazy when I enquire about HDMI 2.1. Started to doubt that they even exist 😆

Its not really a feature set you can take advantage of though. I don't think a 3080 RTX will ever able to saturate HDMI 2.0 bandwidth limits at acceptable FPS.

If you plan on playing very old games at 4K 120 FPS then its worth well looking for.

I know above and beyond the higher resolution/refresh rate capabilities it also supports dynamic HDR but that is still debatable if it will be adopted as an industry standard.
