Hey carbies
Ok so my PS4's hdd crashed and need a new one. Any particular HDD I need to buy? I know have to load the software ect on it in order to work.

It uses a standard 2.5" SATA drive AKA Laptop Hard Drive, a 7200RPM drive is recommended.

You can even use a SSD if you want.

If i recall, you will need to access safe mode to initialise/format the disk. Then you will need a copy of the OS/firmware off the playstation website onto a usb, go back into safe mode then choose the reinstall system software.

The flash drive with the PS4 firmware on it must be in a exFAT/FAT32 format and the firmware needs to be in a folder called UPDATE all caps.
