Dear Toxxyc,

Writing on behalf of Hale_59.
Doing this because the old man is my father-in-law, and aware that he was banned by you regarding a simple religious joke.
It was just a joke, as you can see from his previous posts, the old man is always joking.
But it is a forum and there are certain rules that must be abide to. It is a said fact the world is full of 'PC' people and the number of sensitive snowflakes is astonishing.

Anyway, I am not here to dispute is 2 month banning.
What I am concerned, is the fact we noticed he banned permanently, by you, with accusation of creating a duplicate account.
That fact is not true.
Yous guys keep changing your system set up, and create several problems for existing members (as noted on the forum by members complaints). And somehow your system triggers that Hale_59 created a duplicate account.
This fact I dispute.

I'm aware Hale_59 had an initial ban for 2 months, and he has been observing it without complaining.

Regarding the Permanent Ban, I feel the situation should be reversed.

Kindly reply with your latest decision.

Regards,

Robert

Hi Robert,

Thanks for the writing. Let me start off with something here - Religious discussions are, from our core point of view, not allowed on Carbonite. He posted on a thread with a religious "joke", if you want to call it that, out of the blue with no provocation. Because of his time on the forum I decided against a permanent ban outright, because what he posted is not what we want on Carbonite. At all. So, in short, he can be damn glad he wasn't banned permanently outright.

Then, a few weeks after he was banned, I noticed a new account pop up on the approvals list. The IP matched Hale_59's, and what was uncommon was the fact that it's also an "older person" who made the account. That prompted the ban upgrading to permanent. This was done in error, but we act on the information we get. Banned accounts on a specific IP rarely trip the IP checker when a new account is created, and 99% of the time it's a person creating a duplicate account, so we treat them all as such.

I'll reverse the permanent ban. He can wait out the 2-month ban as before.

Regards,
Toxxyc

We live in a country and times where racial intolerance is at an all-time high, so nothing on the subject "is just a joke". Do you even read the news? Are you blind?

But it is a forum and there are certain rules that must be abide to. It is a said fact the world is full of 'PC' people and the number of sensitive snowflakes is astonishing.
PC my ass, you can make jokes, then it is such. Someone bans you, then it is injustice. Hypocrite much?

Point: Leave people's religion and political views out of everything and rather try and understand each other, maybe some perspective will give you as bit more understanding and help you to see your one-way point of view exactly for what it is. There are a lot of people around these here parts that are fed-up with all the bullshit that is wrong with the world and we just want to get along, and things like this incident reflect badly ON ALL OF US. If you want to spew hatred and bigotry go to the EWN forums or twitter. When (and if) he comes back, he owes everyone here a big apology.
