So anyone else see this ? Intel must be desperate if true, but would still be nice to have purely for the " soap opera " effect.
Now where's my Socket 1159 board ?
"As usual, this information isn't official so should be taken with a pinch of salt"
If this is true...it is really a matter of Intel grabbing at straws (paper ones :) )There is just no clear advantage over current available processors. Also, really...a new MB....OMFS!

Money making racket aside...I remember not too long ago that tech was doubling in performance every two years....it seems that has come to an abrupt halt...There needs to be something major to spark the industry again soon!

I dont see this happening on skylake architecture. If a newer architecture on 14nm then its 50/50 but i doubt it. Sunny cove architecture is set for 10nm and 7nm.

I actually think anything is possible with Intel at the moment.
Would only work if they could get in out on current 1151 boards even if they " lock" it to Z390 boards only.
A Core i5 10600K with 6 cores and 12 threads would be impressive and so would a Core i7 10700K which would essentially be an i9 9900K at a lower price.

I think AMD is poised to take back some decent market share - most people in the USA buy a new PC for the summer holidays and that’s now.

With all the hype and media coverage of AMD, I won’t be shocked if people who were team blue, are now turning red.

I’m even considering ditching my 3770 in favour of a 3700X and a B450 Tomahawk in 6 months time.

Edit: I also think that the possibility of pairing a cheap board with a great Zen 2 processor is going to be a huge draw for buyers. Intel will launch a new chipset and it’ll be the same as Z270/Z370 but you’ll get an excuse as to why it’s required.
