Just wondering what people think on how, if and when the GPU prices will or might change.

Will it go down soon is still stay high for a while?

What are your thoughts on it considering crypto, GPU supply/demand and silicon shortages.

Joh, I must tell you. These GPU prices are crazy right? Anyone noticed?

Demand over availability = whatever price the person who has it want. Unless availability get better the prices will keep going as it is. Shit but that is how it is.

I find it strange looking at the price for a Palit RTX 3080 GamingPro OC at Wootware currently listed as R37999.00 which is exactly R20 000.00 more than what it costed upon release. Seriously those that bought the card at release are very lucky and I was one of them. Got a MSI RTX 3080 Gaming X Trio a couple weeks later second hand for R20 000.00. Seriously the pricing is rediculous. But looking at Newegg's pricing it is partly understandable. But shame, like some of these RTX 3080's listed on here for like R32 000.00 or even more goes almost immediately and the sad part when looking at the listed age these people selling for the card for like R20k or just a tad more.

It will take years.

There are cards coming in, I will update on here when they arrive, then you will see the second hand cards come down significantly.
no I’m not a reseller, sculptor or retailer but I have inside information that the release is in a few weeks, some cards have already arrived so keep your eyes on the locals sites

Cards are coming in all the time. What matters is what price they are coming in at.

Correct, I’m talking about your 1080 cards being sold for 10k + when what is arriving is far better newer with warranty going to be listed at a RRP of 15k
You decide what you want to spend your money ? 🤪

i dont care about the new cards, I care about the old cards that ppl are selling on here for more than what they bought it for and its 2-3 years old that pisses me off.

seen a few cards going for 7-10k that should be 4-5 max

My argument exactly!!!! It’s ridiculous and on top of it there are people buying them so the demand and market becomes fucked. So either hang in there and wait for the cards to drop or purchase new that are aligned to the “realistic” market

Prices are horse shit... and UE5 early access just dropped so thought of upgrading but nope... might as well wait for UE6

I find it sad that resellers here on carb want to charge more than wootware

The palit 3080ti is one example

Grey import vs channel.

You still get a 3 year warranty so is there really a difference as the product should still be legit, or at least in the wootware case ?

Problem is RMA time onus is on you to ship it back overseas. While a lot of people are keen on that, your average Joe should avoid and rather pay the premium for local support.
